Being in a relationship with a single mother for almost 18, that list is correct with the exception of number 3. And the one about the sex, that worked out very well.

No matter what a single mother may tell you.... her family becomes your family and not always in a good way but certainly in a financial way.

Oh and by the way, this is not limited to her children. You will be expected to provide financial support to her sisters too.

Single mothers bring a big financial burden with them. If you ever plan on getting serious with one, you better check her credit report and other issues.

Mine did'nt

Hell of a lot of sweeping generalisations going on here, just make sure yoo truly know the person before yoo commit.

Which INMHO is true of any relationship.

Now what burdens financial, sexual or otherwise do single fathers bring to a relationship?

Cheers

depends on the woman just as it depends on the man no insult intended of course

When the kid comes home from school and wraps her arms around me and tells me she loves me, it makes it all worth the trouble. Me and that little turd have become partners in crime. But it IS amazing the amount of hell an 8 year old girl can unleash

I recommended that we build a home with two separate wings, with our wing as far separated from the kid wing by as great a distance as possible.

but... perhaps their wing should be as far separated from my wing by as great a distance as possible.

The girl I dated before my wife was a single mom and boy did I love her. She had joint custody with the father and her weeks she basically stayed at home with the kid. I saw the kid some and he was a brat for sure, but the girl was pure fun. When we got serious I knew the kid would be a problem. She wanted to move in with me, but I put it off. The kid always got what it wanted and when we spent time together it was a nightmare. I still almost married her, but just couldn't....glad I didn't.

I think many single moms spoil because of guilt of not having a father, which makes it a nightmare when a father comes in the picture. Most fathers I know that have custody don't spoil like single mothers.
