Default Mod Group Help for SH4 noob

Hi I've kinda given up on SH5 atm due to the horrible complications of getting a mod soup to work properly.

Anyways I rediscovered SH4 gold in the bottom of a cupboard and reinstalled it

Could someone please advise me on a mod soup to install to get SH4 playing and looking as good as possible.

Many thanks

Ive had a look at most of the mods available and the following are the ones I'd like to use.

1. TMO
2. RFB
3 RSRD
4 Improved Stock Environment V3 or another GFX mod
5 Maxoptics 4 or OTC or both if possible

Can all of the above be used at the same time and if so what order do I need to install them in.

Regards

super Mod's like TMO and RFB can NOT be used Together, or you will get the soup for sure,

always check the Super mod notes for order of install.

the general rule is one super mod, then you can add the mini mod's that will run with the super Mod

I would recommend:

RFB_2.0 ................................. (Real Fleet Boat)
RFB_2.0_Patch_23April2010
RSRDC_RFB_V575 ................... (Run Silent Run Deep Campaign)
RSRDC_RFBV5xx_Patch1

This provides many improvements with only four mods. RFB (Real Fleet Boat) aims to
achieve the most realistic gameplay and changes many elements. RSRDC (Run Silent Run
Deep Campaign) changes shipping traffic and missions to historical volume/pattern. Stock
has excessive traffic and isn't well configured.

You can add others after these, but I would try to keep it simple until you become familiar with things.

Note that you must have v1.5 of Silent Hunter 4 to run these mods (as most others).
Also, when you install and enable these mods (using JSGME), you should start a new
career, and avoid experimenting with a lot of mods within this career. Playing 3 card
Monty with mods will likely make for problems.

and as a FYI the term "mod soup" is only used to describe a group of mods that stopped working correctly because the files are conflicting for some reason.

I corrected your title accordingly so it now looks to be asking the right question you want answers to

There is no version of OTC for RFB. The closest thing is SCAF (ship centered accuracy fix). I forget which version.
