why not? I don't have a problem with it. If a moderator wants to change the title to reflect such they may do so.

The oddities in Sochi abound and astound.

I'm sure you've all seen the single bathroom stall with the twin toilets.

Probably charging admission for photo ops. Not to mention the cameras in the showers. The Russian soft porn industry wouldn't be denied.
Nothing like a National Lampoon vacation in Russia.

So, fishing in the toilet isn't allowed in Russia? Darn it...

Yeah I though that was funny... I think putin has seen the signs on the internet that people have made to be funny and thought they were being serious.

Anybody watch the opening ceramonies? Looked kinda well like miliitary propaganda to me, from the militay rise of Russia to now (that is my interpertation though).

I will not harp on the snowflake issue since I was a stage lighing tech once and things like that happen on broadway.

It was very much pride and glory russian style.
More appealing to the locals i think.

I saw the thread without knowing the title had been changed. Of course my first thought was "Don't we already have a thread on this?"

I see it didn't take long for a t-shirt commemorating the opening ceremony Olympic rings gaffe to show up.

So what did you think about the opening ceremonies? I actually watched them and I thought they were pretty cool. I didn't care for the political commentary though, even if Putin isn't the greatest guy. I want to watch the hockey, bobsled, ski jump, and down hill.

One poor Olympian almost took an extreme downhill run when the elevator doors opened and there was no elevator. Talk about nearly getting the shaft! I'm beginning to think that the Russians are doing a lot of this on purpose. Locking a bobsledder in the bathroom, etc. We win easy when competition is not showing up. Da?
