Default Manual Targeting Issues

Hi Guys,

I was hoping to avoid asking dumb questions but looks like I have to, so apologies in advance.

I've just been watching some You Tube vids on manual targeting, and noticed that it's apparantly essential to have the "visual speech text box" where the XO IDs the ship and gives the bearing etc etc so that you can then manually input the details to the TDC when you click the relevant link.

When I lock a target and tell the XO to ID a ship, or even plot a solution, I get an acknowledgement in the message window and that's it. But nothing happens. (that I can tell anyway!)

Yes I can viusally ID it myself if needed using the Recognition Book admittedly.

So my problem is that the "speech" text box(es) don't appear at all in my game and consequently I'm unable to add all the required data to the TDC and well, let's just say the my torpedoes aren't exactly on target lol.

Is it a setting in the game options somewhere, or in TDWs Generic Patcher? I can't figure this out for the life of me (yet!)

My mod setup is as per Fifi's full list, and in exactly the order he describes.

Many thanks in advance 'cos this is driving me nuts! lol

Everything except for the speed calculations should show up in the XO dialog box. Make sure you have turned on TDC as well.

Yeah that's what I gathered ... it's just that I'm not receiving the dialog box whatsoever.

I do remember seeing the option on a dialog box to "turn TDC on" at some earlier stage (only had the game since Saturday), I just can't figure out why I don't get them now.

I must have inadvertantly messed something up during multitude of adding mods & patching over the last few days ... so may resort to reinstalling SH5 from scratch.

Which mods are you using? Some of the GUI mods aren't compatible and end up overwriting each other.

I'm using Fifi's 'Full' mod listing. That's an approved list, so the issue must be my PC I guess as I narrowed it down to TDW's NewUI's causing the problem by disabling individual mods one by one. (for clarity, I know there's not an issue with NewUIs themselves, it just causes the XO diolog box to 'never appear' for me). I tried v 7.50 and 7.42, both had the same affect.

When NewUIs were disabled the dialog box worked as expected.

Everything else worked fine though mod wise as far as i could tell, Real Nav, OH2 etc etc.

Has anyone encountered this issue before and is there a workaround? Any help greatly appreciated.

ps Again please don't think I'm slating NewUIs because I'm certainly not. I'm just gutted that I can't use it as hoped.
