Default Sikh students allowed to carry knifes in school.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060302/...nm/india239031

WTF! If this was going on back when I was in high school I would have demanded to be allowed to carry a sidearm due to my family tradition of military service (hay a bunch of people in my families past had to carry guns for defense I should too!) Weapons don’t belong in school! I’ve been though my share of bomb threats, fights, shootings and sh*t in school and giving a bunch of students who maybe end up being the subject of ridicule a weapon isn’t the thing to do!

The smart Sikh. Very clever tradition to make a knife mandatory. That way you always ensure your superiority over unarmed victims, as long as you know how to use the dagger properly.

If I were in those Canadian parental groups, I'd organize to get every kid dressed in Sikh costumes and carry a dagger to school.

And assuming their unarmed combat skills are not superior to your knife skills...

Dear friends,

Sikhism makes it mandadatory to carry the knief (called Kirpan). It is not that the knief is used to harm anyone. Sikh religion did not preach violence of any sort but friendship and helping nature.I think it started with the Khalsa. More information can be found here.

Also in british schools i think it is the sikh's sow up the top part of the knife so it cannot be used (sow it in the pouch) this means they can still carry it but they cant use it which get around that problem.

When i was in school i had no issue what so ever about me carrying a 6inch survival knife the stuff i used to carry on me sheesh.

You had no issue about the knife you were carrying? I'd imagine not or you'd not be carrying it.

For info mate it's sew - not sow.

I remember my school days flick knifes and air pistols, and no they were not mind these days it's still knives and mobile phones to take snap shots of happy slapping and beating to death of some poor person there is no real control of school kids here in the UK any more.

Where i live or used to you had to learn to defend yourself very fast, i didnt know many people that never carryed a weapon.

I was bought up on one of thee roughest council estates in Essex kids were often being attacked and the police didnt do jack so that is what we all did carry something around to at least fight back.

if you met me in real life youd probly note id be wareing steel toe capped boots (as i did in school) reason being i can kick some one in the genitals say and when they bend over another kick in the face that way they wont fight back (proven twice in my school time).

Why do you think i got such a big mouth on these forums? with me its normaly mouth and fists first before brain
