The captain's quarters looks much like it did in reality:

Doesn't mean a thing pal, , they allways find a way to pin point our errors !

As for the Capt. quarters what i've ment was that could change the graphics to give that spot a bit more realism....

Ok whent around u-boats webs to find a decent pick of a real capt. quarters....see it for yourselfs....

Now this is what it was like, since it's a real photo from a U-boat museum somewhere i can't remember...

I know the one in the game it's not to diferent but lacks of realisme and we need to give to that corner a litle of our atention...

I'm diging on it at the moment trying to find a way to change that...

but some how didn't found the folder where it comes the graphics for that subs part...

To be honest, I fail to see any substantial difference, other than that the 'real' one seems to be missing a mattress :P

Otherwise, all is about the same. What changes would you want to see?

I think sometimes we mod, or want to mod, simply because we can. There's something to be said for personal taste, it's true. But I think if the picture of the real commander's quarters looked just like our SH3 representation, and the SH3 quarters looked like that picture of the real thing, we'd be saying we want it the other way. No flame intended here whatsoever, trust me, because I've fallen into that trap many a time, through many games. As I hungrily downloaded and installed FUBAR's new boat skins, I couldn't help but wonder: if the default boat skins looked like FUBAR's, and FUBAR had released instead the rusty, worn skins we got out of the box, I'd be downloading and replacing with as much anticipation, giddy that my boats would look old and war torn at last!

We mod because modding is fun. We ask for mods because they can be done (sometimes). That doesn't mean what we have is so bad.

Just MHO.

I agree...I am more bothered by the fact that there aren't other compartments to explore rather than if my matress is authentic or not...I really don't see any differences in the pictures...other than the doorway is at an angle...but, nothing that bothers me enough to install a mod for it...

if there was...I'd like to see maybe a collection of uboat books you could read while laying down....or a functioning privacy curtain for when the boat is swaying...or a functioning reading light you can turn on and off...but, all these are accessories and cannot be added from a mod standpoint....but, would be a nice addition if they were to make an expansion pack that gave us more compartments across the board for all our uboats.....

I must agree with Tikigod. The compartments are not that bad - although I ask myself, why the sonar/radio does look the same on VII, IX and XXI types - is it accurate ? I have no idea so far...

But again, what bothers me more than that is lack of the other compartmens available. Well, I wish I could SEE torpedo room, or the engines that power my Boot.

No argumenting from me at all bguys, but in mi opinion if we whant such acuracy and reallity in certain things and give the trouble to change even a needle and a glass in tyhis game cause they don't look perfect or iqual, just thought we could do the same on this quarters nothing else....

But it's no problem to me at all guys, just posting another Topic i guess!!
