Default Has anyone done a really nice Night Sky mod?

Hey All,

I always thought the night sky in SH5 sucked. Has anyone
made a really nice detailed night sky? Lots of stars, and
galaxy showing. Night sky just seems to have been neglected.

Something like this maybe:

or this:

How about Auroras? Is it even possible??? How gorgeous would
it be to sail up to northern latitudes n have an Aurora Borealis
to watch.

Google Images on aurora. Wouldn't you love to occasionally, rarely
see this? Only u guys know if it can be done.

What has been done so far in Dyn Environment is very nice, including sky/clouds imo

I have Dynamic enviroment, and never noticed an
improvement in the stars in the night sky. Clouds
& atmosperics are nice, if a little high on the bloom.

It's the stars I'd like to see updated.

I'm guessing ur joking, but if not.

Night sky stars are not just white, they are many colours, predominately red, blue & yellow n occasional pale green. Also, there's no galactic dust cloud. If ur serious, maybe u've never seen a really dark night sky to see how many there are.

In the current one, the constellations are all there, but it's just the primary constellation stars, and missing all the myriad of others.

Hi Venus, your idea is nice, but I don't think it is feasible

There are no textures for the sky in SH5 (except clouds), all is done with shaders (data\Shaders\Sky) and color codes in the envColors..cfg files (data/Env).
Maybe the stars are embedded textures in data/scene.dat.

Never seen them like that ingame.

Right. And no milky way.
That remains a sub game you know, that's nitpicking imo

Bigger issue for me remains stars and moon not fog affected. I'd rather see them fog affected instead of getting the milky way!
