Default [REL] Fog for better gameplay

Hi,

Not really a mod, more a files adjustments for better gameplay imo

Fifi_FogForBetterGameplay_v1 for SH5
(included new sea parameters - sea speed/and zero wind adjustments)
If you don't want the new sea parameters, just delete the SeaParameters.cfg inside the Env folder

Just activate via JSGME either on stock SH5, or after any environmental mod.
Best is for use with IRAI_0_0_39_ByTheDarkWraith, and DynEnv v2.9 - 8.b Wave Mechanics - Gale

New fog gameplay distances:

- LIGHT FOG: +- 6200m to get a visual contact and to be able to lock/identify target
- MEDIUM FOG: +- 3100m to get a visual contact and to be able to lock/identify target
- HEAVY FOG: +- 1300m to get a visual contact and to be able to lock/identify target
- NO FOG: +- 15000m to get a visual contact and to be able to lock/identify target

Watch crew and officer locking target ability has been adjusted so the target is neat enough to identify without a doubt.
You may recognise the target yourself before him, but the little delay is to simulate your officer searching in his manual...
Anyway you will be able to lock/identify target before boat is completely out of fog layer (hence before he can see you)

I opted for those fog distances, while waiting for a fog timeline duration fix in SH5.
Thanks for reading!

Default All right

I'm giving it a try. Thanks.

A question...Does this alter the chance of fog or just the results of fog distances for sighting ships?

I don't want to say anything good or bad but.. visibility and able to identify 1300m in heavy fog , in my opinion it's too much and too far from reality..

Just my opinion

Fog distance rendering, to counterpart the unrealistic numerous whole days of fog ingame.

I know my friend
Answer is just above...
Heavy fog should be heavy fog, i agree. But not heavy fog for 72 hours or even more.
Just for better gameplay. In the waiting of a fog fix, it's a compromise.

Save/load is better solution for me in this case than increasing visibility range.. as I can see out of the window, with heavy fog range of visibility is not further than 20-30 meters..

Foggy but not the heavy fog.. more often the medium fog, not the heavy.. and I know and use several solutions for 'medium fog' issue..

Nice mod .
I dont mind a lot of medium fog because it makes up for the times with poor visibility that are not simulated like poor visibility in rain and from sea spray from waves etc . Otherwise too much tonnage .
