When the game, and thus the forum was new, it was just about like this one. A lot of good people learning from each other and helping the new people. There was a lot of friendly joking with each other and simply an enjoyable place. Then UBI changed the format and it made some things such as posting a screen shot a little difficult, but still doable. Then they changed it again to how Wolferz described. One thing he left out was a rediculous sensoring software that blanks out parts of words (ex: button became ****on). And yes, it is that restrictive. Then the latest new requirement that Wolferz described.

Almost forgot about that Nazi language Nanny.
If your name was Richard, you got your Dick rubbed out.

Whoever heard of the **** O'Kane method?

Here you can choose the potty mouth filter for yourself

Only within certain limits. If you choose to try to get away with real proscribed words by changing letters you'll find that it's not so easy.

Ubitoss was becoming more and more worthless.
If they weren't making money off it, it didn't matter
to them anyway. Much better smilies here.

There is always a fine line between good grammar and good taste.

Crossing that line is where one gets into trouble.
Besides, Usage of blue word profanity only shows your lack of vocabulary, couth or both.
I've always ascribed to keep it squeaky clean.
Well, most of the time anyway...
Where Ubisoft is concerned the expletives tend to flow like hot grease.
Thank God and Neal Stevens that those days are behind me and what's behind me is not important.

Welcome aboard all

I see you've all been here before so I'll not show you around.

Was there many on the Ubi$oft boards?

Once upon a time there was a fair few of us over there but repeated wringings of the dish rag kind of dried it up in recent years.
In addition many came here too, even then.

The welcome is appreciated now that I have elevated myself from lurker status to full blown PITA

Ok boys. Just park that credenza against yon wall and put my lazy boy right beside it.

Where's the kitchen?

I posted a message over at ubisoft for Donna and RealOldPhart. I have a special job for Donna, and it involves SheWolf.

Welcome to you all...I left the Ubizoo about three years ago after a couple of mates 'dropped' their moderator status and things just went downhill that much quicker shortly thereafter.

Thanks for the welcome Jimbuna.
You know you're there when the COB shows up and busts your chops for your unkempt haircut.

Who were those Moderator mates if I may ask? JR? KLCarroll? My good friend Tambor198?

For me it all went sour when they sent in those clueless Community managers that had never set foot on a boat, much less the sim and they acted like they knew what was going on. Making all manner of promises to the community that they had no intention, authorizaton or approval from the Ubisuits of keeping.
I'd wager that they were disillusioned quicker than a New York minute when the Ubisuits told them to Siddown and shaddup.

Scalded dogs came to mind as fast as they retreated.

The last year or two Ubi got down to the long time hard core members that mostly put up with crap because we enjoyed our tribe of friends. It wasn't the forum for me, I had a group that I enjoyed on a more personal level. We circled the wagons a few times, but the forum was dying, now with changes, it will be dead.

Still, I have been a member here { in good standing, much loved by all} for years.

Least we're all getting under one roof....I may even have to write a story about the exodus....

Realjambo and VikingGrandad...two sound guys that I introduced to the Grey Wolves Lair because of the friendly and unbiased way they attempted to moderate during the difficult times.

Never forget a certain eedjit over on Ubizoo (banned from this community as well as the Grey Wolves Lair and sorry no public naming here) who thought he could prod the COB with a stick away from SubSim....soon found out he was banned from three sites

Yes, one of your stories will be good.
