Default Unheard Radio Messages?!

Been playing this game now for several years. Got the RFB and RSRD mods installed. Enjoying it thoroughly, as these mods really made a whole new game out of SHIV.

Anyways, Just started a new campaign, with the game date synced to the real-word date, i.e. the game date as I play matches the real world date, so it's gonna be a long game ahead...

Anyways again, I was just going through the game's sound files, and I just now discovered that there are tons of radio messages (the audio .ogg files) that I never heard get played on the radio! They're all config'ed for channel 22, but many of them never played on their origin date or beyond.

What gives?

Thanks.

messages:
RFB does its own thing with a lot of files so its very likely RFB isnt using any of those files and has its own files for radio messages. RFB is not very mod friendly because it redirects the game to use new file locations for things and so other mods dont play nice with RFB and strange things happen because of it.

other sounds:
the rest of the sounds in the game are just as messed up, often a sound when called on may or may not get played at random with no ryme or reason because of the way the game engine does sounds.

AFAIK its not a fixible glitch without the source codes which ubi will never give up.

in the same exact situation you might hear the sound played only once it 5 tries or it might work every time the next time you play. i have a mod where i went thru the sound files and replaced a lot of missing sound files that were just left out of the game but even after you get all the sound files fixed there is no fix the randomness of a sound controller that just forgets to play a sound when its supposed to.

for these reasons you will see that sounds are one of the least worked on areas of the game for mods since its pointless to do a lot of work when your sounds may not even get played.

I was just referring to the radio news .ogg files that are played on fixed dates on channel 22, not the game's sounds in general, which I think work fine otherwise. Also, these radio news files are default files, not mod files. I spent a fair amount of time playing the game in v1.5 default mode before installing any mods, and the "extra" radio messages didn't play then, either.

Besides, you don't need source code to script the playing of sound files, and no one at Ubi would know the source code because Ubi didn't write the source code. They merely published and distributed the game for the developers.

I think they placed many in the game for possible use, but no code switch for most of them to play.
