Default Some questions that require answers! :)

Hi there everyone!
I'm an old player of SH3-4 and 5.. trying now to play at the newest installment of the game (SHV) after a while.

Assume that i have the complete list of mod that sober listed (some missing but secondary ones i think). I've read a lot of posts but coudn't find these specific answers to my questions.

1) Are the radio messages of contacts, ships, battles all REAL? I mean.. if i go to XY i will find the ship that is broadcasting the signal? Or maybe just some of them? if yes, which ones?

2) For the guys who play with no map contacts, realism at 100 (or 96%), and real navigation: do you play with map radio contacts (i mean those which appear sometimes inside a certain range on the map...)?? Do they normally appear with real navigation or i missed something? (sober told to change the values from the range... and i did it anyway). I mean do some of you play without any symbols on the map at all?

3) Is there a way to make time go back to x1 when i'm REALLY close to the shores... i mean, head on?

Thanks a lot, sorry for my english

Anyone? please! at least the first question about radio contacts.
Studying the forum i think they are just to add an immersive effect to the campaign and they dont picture a real situation in game. Is that correct?

It depends. Some messages are campaign related, providing instructions, reporting contacts, or giving you updates on what is going on around you. Some of these messages date back to stock game, other were implemented by TDW (for instance for his contact report/wolfpack support patch) or by Trevally for OHII.

If you are using TDW's UI, there's a second category of interceptes messages, mimicking the detection of your sub/periscope. There is a probability that they are triggered when you are close to a ship, but afaik intercepting them doesn't necessarily mean that you have been actually spotted.

Finally, TDW's UI or the Radio Message Engine mod by the same TDW, do feature a bunch of static messages, triggered by date and based on historical events/BdU orders/convoy routes and dates, etc. They are there just for creating an immersive atmosphere, but since both their content and SH5 campaign are based on historical facts, there is a chance that they can give you some good clue, especially if you are using OHII.

If I remember correctly, the messages directly addressed to you (i.e. the "real" messages) are shown on a reddish background.

Do you mean BdU enemy contact reports? If I remember correctly, they are shown in captain's log (not among regular radio messages) and their initial position is marked on map with or without Real Navigation enabled.

The key to the right of this key ] ..... \ ..... will set TC back to x1 instantly.

Use F1 to see key commands for SH5, and Shift-F1 to see more commands.

And weclome back to SH5.

Many thanks to you all.
I already knew the key to go back to x1, just wondering if it would be possible to make the time go to x1 automatically if i was head on to the beaches, cause with real navigation it's now a new problem to overcome when you're near the coast, and the navigator does his mistakes in pointing out where the sub is.
Anyway, no problem, i'll keep an eye on it myself... the more difficult the game is the better the experience will be.

Everything more clear now, thanks a lot.
