Recently I had some problems with Windows not booting properly so I'd to fix it, of course. All the other apps work normally but when trying to launch SH3 from disk it wouldn't budge after clicking 'Play''. Quicklaunch icon wouldn't work either. Made a complete uninstall/reinstall procedure but now I get a message 'Detection failed, please check log'
![]() ![]() Oh yeah, when now clicking the quicklaunch icon, I get a message 'Procedure starting point DdEntry1 cannot be found in dynamically linked library GDI32.dll' I'm clueless. |

Maybe it´s a Starforce problem, try the removal tool, then reboot and start SH3 again, SF should then reinstall.

Nope, didn't work. I even reinstalled Media Player 9 & codecs but same stuff just keeps going on: launching from disk results a halt after clicking 'Play' and the error message mentioned above from a shortvut. Weird.

I´ve asked Google, it seems to be a DirectX problem. Maybe it helps to install the latest DirectX 9.0 version (December 2005):

That's it!! Huh, who would've thought DirectX could ferak out. At least it never happened to me before. Kinda scary, it being such an integral part of OS.
OK, back to business- to slip through the English Channel to patrol grid (November 1939). Could get interesting ![]() Vielen Dank, amigo ![]() |
