Default Constant crashes loading saved games

Have been playing SH5 for several days now and have got to Gibralta Supplies mission sinking +37,000 tons of shipping. Tried to load my last saved game to continue but this crashed to Uplay screen. Restarted SH5 and tried to load the previous save. Same result. The only way I can get the game to run is by selecting New Career. This is very annoying as I have got so far with my previous career that I do not want to start all over again. If I use 'silentotto' in selecting new area this then loads o/k. Is there a bug with the save option, it is certainly puzzling as in the past I could reload some saved games. If it comes to the worst and I have to re-install is there a 'safe' guide on how to do this as I have read that so many people have problems with it.
Mods installed via LSGME:- MMM p1, MMM p2, MMM p3 and Open Horizons II_full V2 in this order.
I have the DVD, keycode, player name and password but I will only re-install as last chance.
Sys Specs. Win 7 Home Premium SP1, 64 bit system, AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T x 2.80 GHz. RAM 8,00 GB, AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB ram.

Just looking at your mod load I notice you have OH II on top of the the first 3 MMM's. If I remember correctly, MMM p6 already contains the OH II mod and would probably be more compatible (assuming the save issue is mod related).

If it were me, I'd roll back the OH II stand alone and then install MMM p6 in its place. It might not solve the issue, but it's worth a try for a quick test.

hmmm - having OHII v2 last should be ok.

The most common reason for a save game not to work is that something is missing or added to your game.
So if you add the schnorkel while at sea = bam ctd
Same if you remove.

So have you added anything to your boat etc?

as trevally mentioned, adding or removing ANYTHING from the game will cause CDT issues with saves and rarely can you ever undo what you did, it just never seams to work even if you put it back exactly the way it was.

also get in the habbit of double saving the game. this means have a regular game saved from the start of your last patrol then you can save the point where you leave the game. this way if something gets corrupted you dont lose all of your progress and you can start over from the beginning of your last patrol instead of starting a whole new career. you can also do a mid patrol save for the same reason, the bottom line is ctd and corrupted saves always happen no matter how carefull you are so plan ahead and do multiple saves to protect your progress and NEVER make changes to the game without documenting it so it can be undone if something goes wrong.

Yes - good advice for game saves.
I will add some more:-

Always always save your game just before picking the next campaign section. Name it as campaign end "CoastalWaters End etc"
This is a very handy return point.
Every time you progress to a new stage in the campaign - the game loads that section as if it is a new career and then checks and adds your profile.
So - this save point is as good as a new career start

The next most important is the bunker save - save this before you talk to the KMO.
This save point is a good save to change your boat equip (with mods) as the 3d world is re-loaded when you select start patrol

Have taken note of the advice from Trevally and Webster and will start a new career bearing this advice in mind. BTW I did not add or remove anything whilst in the game and as a footnote none of my saves would load, just crashed to Uplay.

All these save issues sound so much like SH3. I guess I was naive to hope Ubi had made some progress by now.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Have started a new career and mission. Over the last couple of days I have saved the game numerous times, all under different names. All have loaded on a new start as normal. Great thought I. Today I tried to load my last save, what happened, crash to Uplay. Tried to load the continue mission option, once again, crash to Uplay. I did nothing different in my saving, no additions etc. etc. but still the bl**dy game crashes. After the SH5 screen loads it takes some time, with a blank screen, before the 'Please wait until saved games are synchronized from server' appears. What is this message for as I am playing offline, not connected to Internet or server. Surely the saved games should be loaded from my hard-disk ?. All in all I am getting really fedup with SH5 through this. The game when running is really good and I am loath to uninstall but as said before, fedup with not being able to load my saved games.

This does not happen with the stock game - so it is most likely your mods at fault.

MMM is out of date - it was made during a stage in SH5 modding where there wher some errors in some mods. (MMM does work for some but not all)

You should use Sobers mod list if you want a package (follow his instructions to install) or see here for a nice mod list :-

I would use OHII v2 full rather than light
