Default Scapa Question - Spoiler Alert

So I get a mission to go to Scapa and sink a Capital Ship.

I go in at periscope depth and at night. I'm doing 1 knot, and really taking my time. I find a nice battleship that is mine for the taking. I fire 4 fish and got credit for a kill. Now I'm wondering how I'm going to make it out of here with all the racket I've made. Well, all the ships in the harbor just stay in place - not one destroyer has started up and looking to dc me. I waited till all my torpedoes were reloaded and took out two destroyers. I never surfaced as I thought this would surely do me in but was half tempted to see what, if anything, might happen. I stayed at periscope depth and exited without any problems.

Is this normal for the game in this area? Not that I mind sinking ships but I would have thought that after the major explosions of the battleship things would have become very hard very quickly.

It depends on what year you are there .... at a later stage in the war, it is more difficult to enter,at least in SH3.

Can not say directly that for SH5 .... then I have not played since it was released, on the course of action is the same as for SH3, but if it is the same, it is not November -39 no problem.

Default Same here

I wondered the same, because this where I found those five special ships to sink in Blockade. I was able to sneak in, in day time first time to sinks one, then come back later to get the last three. Destryers never made a effort to find me. They just kept going " ring-around-a-rosy" the whole time. Very Biszar!!!

What modlist do you use?
I use Sobers except real navigation & green spinning thing,

When I attacked two ships at a port farther south, I had lot of destroyers further out, attacked at night & had 50 meters to spare down. but when torpedon hit the ships turned two destroyers to look for me. doch without success and was able to sneak out again.

Same as Gummi. Tho I went in at night and had a ball. Destroyers came looking to but I nailed them both and got out with no problems by staying close to the western shore and going around the southern island, and back to the North Sea. The destroyers outside the Flow in the bay never enve came looking for us at all.
