No trap, just straight-up argument.

But you missed the point it's not us or this site or what we put on our subs, or what we fly, but what are they teaching our kids,, that communism is a warm fuzzy little bunny..We know what happened in the past,,, our kids don't.. I'm glad you gave me time to think...that's what the big difference is,, if our kids don't know what or understand what happened in the past then they don't know right from wrong and that is a problem and,,then someone is responsible .... so run rabbit run. If this happened 20 years,, ago,, scratch that it wouldn't have happened 20 years ago.
It should have looked like this,, now it is shower time, I do live for the arguement it's to bad I loose so much in typing ... I should get that voice type application you wouldn't stand a chance. it probably look like this, *((($#@) #@& *(^$ !@@#$%( ^%$*)@

I'm sure there were at least scripts written for this abortion.

I agree with the parents. Whoever came up with this idea ought not to be teaching our children. At very least someone ought to educate the children on the very bloody history behind what they were singing and dancing about.

But is appropriate at a HS football game? Best left to the HS theater company?

I don't cut and edit. You post, I reply and then you edit all your other stuff in. To be honest, it's not fair.

And I agree with those sentiments. While I don't feel that there was indoctrination taking place, I would not have included all of the symbols of the Soviet Union. Much like the way that the swastika is muted with the more honorable Iron Cross in our simulations, one can mute the Hammer and Sickle with the Red Star and still achieve effect.

Not having seen the field show, nor being familiar with the teacher and the program, I can't say if the history of the Bolshevik Revolution was covered. I would hope it was, but if I remember my days of running a marching band program, most of the details of what the show is 'about' gets lots in the day-to-day details of rehearsal. Les Miserables was our theme one year, and to my shame I don't think that we ever really covered the show itself nor the book that it was based upon. It ended up just being music that we played; pretty much devoid of context and meaning. A failing on my part more than anything, but the climate of band competitions in Pennsylvania tends to force one to concentrate more on scoring and results than actual education. This was a big reason for my leaving high school education.

If they would have done some mock executions at the end then it would have been more accurate,, I'm all about the realism..

Ask Led Zep how well those things fly.

Stories vary, but basically Keith Moon told Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones that their new project would go over like a lead balloon, hence, Led Zeppelin. The 'Led' spelling was to make sure people pronounced the name right.

I presume that marching bands also do mock massacres for the American revolutionary war? Or do they leave Gnadenhutten out? Does an actor playing Cornstalk come in during the piece and get murdered whilst on a diplomatic mission? Those hung in Philadelphia when the American forces recaptured it, like John Roberts III, are they represented too?

No?

I hardly know about that and I know kids today couldn't even tell us if we ever had a revolution and I bet they couldn't say with who. The town of Horseheads is pretty close to my home town and Painted Post is closer in Stueben County but not Horseheads that's in Chemung County. Heck Oberon that was over 200 years ago and you are still holding a grudge..

Besides, we're British, we have long memories and lots of experience playing the bad guys in American movies.

Better to play them, than to be them.

Russians are the ultimate bad guys in American movies. At least the crap I grew up on.

We love our British friends, who bore us in her image.

We forgive you for burning our capitol. Don't let it happen again.
