Search The Community Manual for "external torpedoes".

Are they the two torpedos stored externally? If so, have a full compliment of men in the appropriate torpedo room (froward room for forward external torpedo, stern tropedo room for stern external torpedo). Then, on the weapons amnagement screen, click on the external torpedo and 'drag' it to an open internal slot. If you then put the mouse cursor over the torpedo, it should show you the time to move it inside. (Usually 40 min. to an hour). Also, be sure you are on the surface, not in silent run, and an officer is at the weapons officer station.

Good hunting!

Stormy weather should not make a difference, as long as the other conditions I mentioned above are met. The torpedo will not move right away, but if you place the cursor over it it should show the time until it's loaded.

I haven't tried loading external torps yet, but my guess is this...

If you can't even send a guy up topside to man the flak gun in heavy seas, you sure as heck aren't going to be allowed to send a crew up to shift thousands of pounds of explosives around.

But - I could be wrong.

Weather doesn't effect being able to bring external stores into the boat. Trust me, im a diehard IX skipper, i knows all about bringing those fish into the boat!

Now if weather effects how long it takes i can't say, only crew quality and fatigue seems to effect this.

On an intresting note, if your in the process of reloading, if you have to pull the plug and dunk the boat for a short period of time (couple mins for a quick hydro check ), you don't lose your progress and pick up where you left off once you surface. *COUGH*. In reality if you dunk the boat you should lose the torpedo.

To simulate realism s much as the game allows with external torpedoes, I only load them when the weather allows and when I assume I'll have enough contiguous time on the surface to stow them below.

I always stop dead in water for reloading them, too. :hmm:

If i had my way, youd have to be in a dead stop, in decent weather, and unable to submerge until reloading operations were complete or you forfeit the torpedo if forced to submerge ( Ie crew drops everthing and scrambles down the conning tower hatch)

Unfotunatly, i can't have my way in this regard
