Default New PC without WinXP (SH3?)

I'm considering building a new computer using an X79 mobo with an i7 socket 2011 cpu. It looks like Intel has stopped supporting WinXP with this new chipset so I would need to rely on Windows 7 and "XP compatability mode" for older games and sims. There's a long sticky thread here for SH3 and Windows 7 but it doesn't say definitively at the top of the thread that SH3 will run.

Will SH3 run in Windows 7 or not?

64-bit Windows 7 running with no problems whatsoever on a laptop. More memory to use for the game, no crashes, no save game crashes. I can save submerged right next to the Royal Navy and it's Merchant Fleet parked over me if I want to. I recommend trying the switch to a much more powerful and stable operating system

It works with 64 bit versions of Vista and 7. Even without setting XP compatibility mode! Just make sure you do not install it into the default location in "Program Files"-something- folder. Or UAC will complain every now and then. Give it it's own brandnew folder that you created.

like c:\games\SH3

A simple look at any of several threads would have told you that dozens, and probably hundreds, and likely thousands of members are running it on Windows 7 with no problems at all.

just for the sake of getting the answer out there YOU MUST have a silent hunter that does not have starforce on it easily located on amazon or if you know what you are looking for eBay.

I WILL REITERATE MUST NOT HAVE STARFORCE or you will not be able to play it.
if you would like i can post a URL for amazon.
