Default How do you multi-quote?

Reference page:
I am using Multiple UI for SH5 with TDC as the example.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...66093&page=615

I searched for help and can not find the help I need. See my post 9219.
I copied and pasted bits and pieces from posts 9216 and 9217 to create post 9219. I have experimented with IE9 and Firefox 14. I can "reply with quote" for years, but can not get the " multi-quote this message" button to work.
Am I misinterpretting what this multi-quote this message" button actually does? Is post 9217 an example of multi-quoting? How do I recreate that post 9217 example?

Click 'Multi-Quote' on the first post you wish to quote. The button will change color. On the second post just quick 'Quote'.

If you wish to quote more posts, click 'Multi-Quote' for all but the last one. Click 'Quote' on the last one you wish to quote and they will all show up. You can then cut them down to quote specific sentences and write your own comments in between.

It took me a long time to figure it out. Either that, or someone else explained it to me. I don't remember.

If you want to split a single post and comment on separate parts you need to type in the (quote) and (/quote) yourself (obviously I used () instead of [] because I didn't want it to say

In my next post I'll 'Multi-quote' your post and 'Quote' my own.

I swear I never have seen the button change color, or see any other kind of reactive change. Now it works. Thanks, Sailor Steve.
