Trying to get back in it!

Hello All!

I have recently got back into SH3+GWX with a PC upgrade, the game went back on the back burner when my older computer just could not run it in graphics intense situations. So I snuck around the boards here and found all the right info and had the game up and running.

I downloaded the game on Steam then added GWX3.0 and then SHCommander 2.6. The same two I have on my older PC.

Everything was fine but I have must have done something wrong with JSGME, because I started having graphic problems after a few patrols.

Long story short. I got upset and I just deleted it all and started over. I am now looking at stock 1.4b.

Here are my questions...

Do I have to download the 4GB Patch? Is there one for Steam? When do I install it?

Is there a newer version of SH3 commander I need? That will work with GWX3.0?

Which version of Commander do you have now? All versions will work with all supermods. In GWX's case there is a file you have to move into Commander's folder, but it's readily available.

Further to Sailor Steve's reply, the latest version of SH3 Commander is release 3.2.

With regard to the 4GB patch, as far as I am aware it can be applied to most game executables. It can only be used on x64 bit OS's, but as you mention you have upgraded your PC, presumably this is what you have.

Thanks for your replies, I now have GWX+SH3CO3.2 up and running.

My os is win 7 64 professional and I have 12 gigs of ram.
