What the....
I'm a bit confused about this (nothing new).
But It seems to me that I've played the game when my internet(s) was down and didn't have a warning screen or anything reminding me of it.
Quite often, my wireless connection gets so weak that it disconnects (the usual service in CA) and I just keep on going.
I understand that this launcher is completly internet free, but as far as playing with the DRM disconnected, I thought I was unhooked then. (Even though my games continue to save online, which can be a two sided sword).
Anyway, so I'm taking it that disconnecting the DRM is not playing internet free.

If you have play offline enabled then i would say that the game is syncing with ubilauncher , not online .

Whatever they did? They whacked my install!
Can't even log into Uplay(Hell).

Uninstalled but not re-installed yet.
One more tick on my "I Hate You!" list!

Disconnected the WIFI just to test, and it worked just fine..

P.S.
Steps I did:
1. Start - SH5 - entered email & password - went to settings (did not unchecked anything, except clicked on off line mode.
2. Played for 2+ minutes...Esc back to windows.
3. Start - SH5 - email&password Re-started uplay (Now is telling me I'm in off line mode (OK) played 33min Esc
4. Start - SH5 - all OK game started but started from the same point of my last auto save...
5. Disconnected WiFi - (Just to see if it works) Start - SH5 - Uplay pop-up entered email & password - Played game for 26min Saving game pop-up ... Esc Exit to windows...
(Still internet connection disabled...)
6. Restarted (Start - Sh5 - entered email & password) All good --restarted from the (NEWAutoSAVE) ... Thanks SOBER....

Just tried the back to on line mode - it did not work (Well, of course I had the Internet connection disabled - once internet connection re-established back in game in on line mode with no problem - playing it now! in online mode.
