Default Sea color issue with TMO 2.5 ?

I'm an absolute newbie but...is this color "normal" or is it a bug?

I'm not sure, but the original sea colors looked more realistic.

It can be normal, the sea can be different colors based on many factors in the game.

That looks like TMO2.5 from what I remember, I've longed tweaked mine, but it's more a matter of taste.

Thanks for the clarification, Armistead. I thought it could be a graphic issue.

That's definitely TMO Blue Pacific!

Got so used to the Atlantic with SH3, that it was a bit shocking to see the deep blue TMO has for the ocean which is more correct than the color of the other oceans.

But on a sunny day, that's what it looks like off the southern coast of California. Get out half way between the mainland and Catalina Island and it's all blue around you.

This is the only, and mean ONLY thing I don't like about TMO. Realistic or not, I can't really stomach the ocean colors.

Caustic created a little mod that you may be interested in. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=194657

There's a TMO compatible version too. Tones down the colors to what I think is a more realistic color, and yes, I've seen the Pacific.

Thanks, Dignan. I have installed Caustic's mod and now the sea looks better! Anyway, as Armistead says, it's a matter of taste.

It is a matter of taste and I love it, I have seen pics my uncle took while out in Hawaii, and they look that blue. The Pacific has a higher salt content than the Atlantic...maybe that's the cause of the color difference, it makes it more buoyant as well.

This is going to sound weird but here goes. I live in Hawaii (central Pacific)the sea is real blue-but when I'm gone for 2 weeks and fly back damned if it isn't bluer then I remember it. I work in a skyscraper with a view of the harbor and South shore ocean beyond-it's all dependent on light and angle to. But the blues are really vibrant.
