Czech Republic 1 Portugal 2
Germany 2Greece 0 (I hope I am totally wrong with this one)
Spain 2 France 0
England 2 Italy 1 (wind Balotelli up and the stupid Eyetie will get himself sent off )

£10 on each score apart from the Germany game

Also easy to say. Could be, but while both teams still are not in top form, after the first round my impression is that the Spaniards still have the edge. German team could get them on a good day.

The Greeks tomorrow still must be beaten. There is a reason why they are where they are. And that reason is they are a nasty obstacle. Just look how difficult the Germans made it for themselves against Denmark, being unable to crack them open.
If you watched Germany in that game there was no urgency whatsoever. It looked like they couldn't crack them open because they were not willing to commit players forward but when they did Bender scored. Italy may be the bogey team but back in those days Italy were a team to be reckoned with. They are still a good side but they will seriously struggle with this new German side.

I'm just glad it's Germany who are going to put Greece out. There is nothing attractive about the Greek side and they really have scraped that group.

BREAKING NEWS ON SKY SPORTS NEWS

And what a surprise Sepp "I hate the English" Blatter has now decided that goal line technology is now necessity.

He is so embarrassing you'd think he'd realise the fact

A familiar occurrence:

In all fairness to the Ukraine though, it really should have been 1-1.

Why? the player who setup the shot was yards off side when the ball was played to him. That it was a long ball that gave him time to double back onside before his touch which the linesman should have flagged immediately.

Also I have yet to find one decent image that clearly shows space between the ball and the line. To me it looks like it is just touching. Arguable certainly, unlike Lampards effort which was a clear yard over the line.

Goal line tech is definitely necessary in my opinion, It would also be so easy, 4 mini cameras with 90 degree FOV in each corner of the goal facing the opposite corner. At least 1 of those cameras would give a perfectly clear view in every situation.

Regards,
Sam.

Good point on the offside call, in my defence I'm rather a novice at this game! The ball was definitely across the goal line though:

Not miles across like our World Cup goal, no, but still enough to count...but like you say, the offside was missed as well.

Well, I say maybe, maybe not. The rule is - the whole of the ball must cross the whole of the line, and that picture is inconclusive. To me it looks to be touching.

The most light is coming from the right side, and the apparent dark patch between the ball and the bar could well be shadow on the ball, see Coles or Parkers shirt for a similar effect on a similar colour.

Regardless, the point is with the limited technology as it stands, as in that image, were it referred to, would be referred right back as referees decision anyway as it is too close to call.

Like I said, arguable. Simple video tech would prevent these arguments.

Regards,
Sam.

I think this pictures shows with quite some certainty that there is a small dark gap of empty space left of the ball, and dark means that spot is neither thje goalline nor the goalbar. I am 99% certain that this should have been counted as a goal for sure. It appeared like that to me already during the life slo-mo.

That is the same image from the same camera that Oberon posted.

I say shadow on the darker side of the ball, It is not clear enough to be certain. If the dark patch was obviously green, which it is not, then maybe.

I urge you to examine Terrys right arm, where there is clearly visible a dark patch on the left - this dark patch is his shirt in shadow, clearly not the grass to the left of it.

I am not saying it did cross the line or didn't, only that from this image (the best we have) it is impossible to be certain.

Regards,
Sam.

Even if it was given, and wasn't deemed offside, the end result would've been England through, Ukraine out.

Septic Blatter was a bit too quick changing his mind on GLT.

If the shadow of the dark side isn't showing then they must have been playing with a size 6 or 7 football. The Entire football crossed the line but as we all know the player was offside in the first place so it doesn't really matter.
