They also remind us that when the invading space fleet arrives, humanity is not going to surrender without a fight to our intergalactic invaders. Instead, we will band together to fight off their incredibly advanced weaponry with our ... well, with what, exactly? Are we really ready to battle our would-be alien overlords?

Nice try but those would be completely useless against an alien attack. Any force attacking from space could simply pound us in to submission by redirecting asteroids at us.

To fight aliens we need to meet them on equal terms; that is in space.

There does seem to be a fixation on alien attack. We are our own worst enemy. I did like the Avengers. Sadly, I watched the 4 previous movies leading up to Avengers after I watched Avengers. It all made sense then.

But did you sit through the entire credits of each movie to catch the cool teaser scenes at the end? Did you sit through the entire credits for the cool scene at the end of Avengers? If not you lose!

Yes I did stay for the closing credits and teaser. All of the movies were very entertaining. Iron Man 2 was my least favorite. However, the Iron Man character played by Downy Jr is my favorite.
