What are the sh3 essentials?

I am a longtime fan of the SH series, and have been playing SH 5 of late. Naturally, I'm finding Sh 5 to be pretty frustrating. While there are some things I like, the bugs just plain get in the way of genuine enjoyment, not to mention the horrible interface...I could go on, but what's the point.

Anyway, I think I'm going to pick up SH3 from Steam. I played SH3 back in the day, and still probably have the original disk, but I don't mind paying $10 for a new copy that's patched and ready to go.

After I finish the install, which patches (mods) do I need to get from here and in what order should I apply them?

Note: I don't play 100 full real, but only so far as I don't compute my own firing solutions. I let the AI do that. Aside from that, I do everything else.

A supermod. Gwx seems to be the favorite, but all are good. Death some back threads on the pluses and minuses of each. I recall there being a recent thread.

Sh3 commander. Found in the download section. Basically a tweaker and launcher. Must have.
