I need to install two new mods but I can`t download the JSGME tool. I first tried JScones..."Visit my webpage to get the latest Generic Mod Enable. " When clicking on " my website" I get the following error message: "Page not available!" I also tried the internet with the same results.
I can`t find any solutions in the SH-5 SubSims forums so I decided to post it. |

I'm amazed at the number of people who don't even know there is a Downloads section. Or anything other than the one forum dedicated to the game they like.

Your link is a very old version - 2.1.0.107, dated 2008. There have been many revisions since, and that one is quite buggy.
The one here on Subsim is current - 2.6.0.

Am I the only one who prefer to install manually instead of using JSGME?

About half of the mods I use are permanent installs, but not until they've been tested with JSGME first.

I use JSGME all the time now. For a while I still swore by the manual process, but that was mainly when I used a mod that was really great but needed a few "tweaks" of my own and I got tired of having to do those tweaks every time I reinstalled and reloaded. Then I just made a habit of modding the mods in the original MODS folder after testing my tweaks and now I hardly do anything manually anymore.
One thing I particularly love about JSGME is the .mep files. Every time I have a mod loadout that works really well, I create one of those. Then, if I ever have to reinstall, all I have to do is to run JSGME, load the .mep file and JSGME loads all of my mods in the order I specify. Makes "reloading" a breeze. ![]()
