Reread my first sentence. Yubba has put up a series of threads over the past few days that have discussed world events with no article link, or at least not one until reminded to edit one in. This is considered to be poor 'nettiquite'. As such, it is my job to remind him of said nettiquite, to which he has complied. It should also serve as a friendly reminder to all members. Adherence to such mores facilitates easier interaction for all our members.

I presume that you have written to your local senator/congressman and told him such. If not, why not?

I'm really not sorry that I haven't, they don't listen, though they heard from folk like me in 2010 I'm sorry that Dems didn't loose more seats, maybe in Nov 2012, and I really don't want to be on a list, and I don't want too stand next to a freshly dug ditch. I figure there is enough government types in here anyway, it's good enough that my rants go all over the world and I keep you entertained, and make the liberals heads pop off their shoulders

So, other than writing about it on a forum, what have you done to seek the change in government you want to see?

Indeed we are, but we try to keep our political rants in one thread. Apathy is the rule of the day because at the end of the day there is absolutely nothing that you can do to change the political system, not even voting does a damn thing any more.

However, what is the alternative? An 'X' Spring? A military government? Fascism? Communism?

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants"?

Maybe, the current systems certainly are not sustainable, in particular the economic system.
Will the American people rise up against their government? I find it unlikely, if I'm honest (at the moment) because so long as people have their basic needs (whatever they define those to be) met, then they will be content to ignore government and live their daily lives.
China cannot, and will not, take action against the United States of America within the next five years, possibly not even for another ten. If the PRC were to take economic action against the US tomorrow then it would be in the middle of a civil war by Tuesday. Yes, the US economy would suffer, but the PRC would be destroyed. Beijing knows this, Washington knows this, which is why there is this uncomfortable state of detente, with the occasional squabble and demands for apologies, etc.
If and when the PRC is able to stabilise its economy to one which does not rely on flogging cheap goods to anyone who will buy it, THEN it will be able to challenge the US, but not a second before it because if the US falls, China follows.
In terms of financial problems, well that is going to get worse before it gets better, but it will get better, did the US population rise up against Hoover? Was Roosevelt put in power by a popular coup? No, the US system went through its standard process of electing a new leader. Sure there were rises in political groups, including the isolationists...who I note with amusement are seemingly on the rise again...and communists and even fascists, because people will turn to extremism if they perceive their day to day lifestyle to be in jeopardy.

I think that it's pretty much a given now that Obama, short of declaring himself on national television to be a jew-hating, puppy killing, muslim extremist, illegal immigrant from Iran, will win this years election, which flies in the face of the 'One and Done' crowd. However, like Hoover, he will not turn around the depression, and by 2016 the Republicans will have their act together, a Republican president will be elected, just in time for the depression to start wearing off.

These things happen in cycles, just thank your lucky stars that this is not the 1920s, and you're not living in a Hooverville. It could be a lot worse. Will it get a lot worse? Possibly, no-one can say for certain, and for some people already it is as bad as the 1920s, but even back then, the US government held, and it will continue to hold, through good presidents and through bad.

That may be true but yubba is not violating any of the forum rules per say he just has his own style it is different I will give you that but I do not think that it is harmful meant to violate the rules well not the rules that I can see under FAQs and Rules. With all due respect. If anything yubba is fairly respectful I have seen others send very obvious jabs at him(there is one in this very thread a few posts after your last) yet yubba did not retaliate in kind a lot of members have hard time doing that.

That "jab" is a direct and accurate comment on the absolute nonsense that was quoted.
However he says he posts with the intention of making peoples heads pop off their shoulders, which does suggest he is trolling. Unfortunately for him the result is more of a shaking of the head in disbelief and pity.

What is hilarious is the subject and how he thinks it is laughable the way the current government is acting over china, yet the current government is acting exactly the same as all the other governments have for the past 60 years since they realised the reality they faced.....which takes several of his other rants in this topic and shows them up as real nonsense.
