Sad day indeed... at least they could provide the means for online hosting besides having to create virtual LANs and all that.

Is it possible to use a VPN tunnel to connect to other players? Is it difficult to setup a virtual lan? I was thinking of setting up my website so that players could arrange MP missions. Is it possible to have a direct IP connection between two players? I was thinking of having links to people's email address or webpage to arrange matches.

Idk if its possible to direct IP with SH3. I think as a community we should investigate this. Maybe do a subsim program like voobly. Sure this would take forever unless we had a lot of great coders, but it would be worth it I think.
EDIT this would probleby cost a lot of money, but after looking at the Voobly website, we should try to request SH3 to be supported. We would need like 50 outside members intrested (as in 50 people not already using voobly.) |
