i am getting a msvcr71.dll CTD when running the game after upgrading from VIIC to IXC in oct. '42 in Lorient. I reverted back to my old saves and re-enabled the mods for my VIIC and the game is running just fine without any issues. I have the following mods enabled in JSGME:
FM_NewInterior_V1.0 TransparenteKonsole -63MBinSound b25_Louder_Diesels_Louder Das Realistic Food Crash Dive 50 Metres! Das Boot Record Aces' Modified Headphones Carotio_SH3_PinUpGirls_Rita Milk Harbour_mod Ice Age Hands_look_better Pascal_Port_People Tree_mod Landscape_mod sobers real smoke darker and a brown tint1.1 Torpedo damage Final ver2.0 MerchantMod-01_ExternalCargo_Juju nca_stgiorgio Merchant_Fleet_Mod_3.2 Tikigod's 3-D Clean Big Dials (Glass Refelction) Type VII salvo selector LifeBoats&Debris_v4 Rapt0r's Instruments V3.5 Water_Stream_for_Uboats_V4 M.E.P v3 M.E.P v3-Patch NeuUZO&PeriV.2 BordInstrumente Button Fix Low Contrast Dark Buttons Improved Wave Textures B25_Camera_Stock 1NaviMapHintergrund Sunrise Harbour_Traffic_1.47 Radio England Wolfehunters_VIIC_STD_2048 FM30_UpDown DFa_UpDnRot_Flags_fin2 After finishing my last patrol in the VIIC i awarded the medals to my crew and exited the game. Then i used JSGME to disable the following mods: FM_NewInterior_V1.0 Type VII salvo selector FM30_UpDown Wolfehunters_VIIC_STD_2048 Started the game, bought the IXC and all the available upgrades, mission briefing shows NULL grid but i thought i would change it using SH3 cmdr but the game crashes about 60% of the way in the loading screen. Are there any other mods i would have to disable? i don't see how any of the other mods i have could be conflicting with the IXC. I really want to give the IXC a try.. please help! |

Try skipping the upgrades for the first patrol, no crew changes either. Yes you'll be short-handed, but call it a shakedown cruise around the harbor.
It might be similar to the initial cruise bug. Wouldn't hurt to try anyway.

Also, while i was messing around with some files i managed to screw up my periscope view.. i can no longer see lines for finding the range etc. only the numbers. I think there is either a texture file missing or a conflict or maybe it's the settings in menu_1024_768.ini. There is a very common CTD bug when starting with a new kaleun on an initial cruise.
You can do anything you are able before switching to the IXc. Once you switch to the IXc, make no changes whatsoever. Do not add crew. Start your patrol. If it loads, end the patrol, and you are now free to make whatever changes you like. I always follow this procedure with a new kaleun and/or a new boat. I just call it a shakedown cruise and get on with the war. I make no promises. This may help, and it certainly won't hurt.

After finding a way to increase the torpedo layout.. it's really easy just edit the basic.cfg file and the availability of milk cows there is really no compelling reason for me to switch the IXC but i'll still give it a go. Any ideas about my periscope view problem? |
