UbiSoft is currently looking for programmers for Silent Hunter IV.

I doubt there will be an add-on for Silent Hunter III.

Frankly, id be happy with just a new patch, let alone a addon.
I think SH3 is a done deal for Ubi, and i dont think we'll see anymore support from them for this game at all.

From what I can see there is nothing official about the "official" SH III forum. Just a lot of rumour and speculation.

Not that that ever happens here...

May be you mistaken the X1 piracy project for the addon? They did advertise it as if it was something 'official'.

I'd be happier without another patch, it will throw my mods into chaos

I think what this community has done in terms of mods is far beyond any add on I can ever expect from UBI. And I am generally very happy with the 1.4b patch as all the latest mods work with it just fine. Most of the fixes needed have been managed by the community, and the ones left (hardcoded etc.) are not game killers in any way.

So I think its best we wait and see what UBI has to offer in respect of SH4. I just hope its as modable if not more, then SH3.

i have to admit i quite like the sound of a SH3 expansion pack--it's going to be two years before SH4 starts to manifest it self--(it's unlikely to be sooner- by any reckoning :hmm: ) --it still seems slightly odd to me even talking about SH4--
tho with a completely new DEV team and the old SH3 team disbanded (?) it's hard to imagine them not struggling a little to produce a ex pack--just wish they'd release the landscape and vessel modelling editors--those did exist-- they announced them and gave details and screenshots of the editors long before SH3 was released --can't for the life of me think of a really logical reason for not releasing them??
wouldn't kill any-one
sure would be fun---even if they were a bit glitchy and un-polished-

With the lack of support for SH3, I'm all done buying games from UBIsoft, I'm sorry, but it was a BIG let-down for me... -Nightowl

SH3 received plenty of support... After all, we did get to patch 1.4b, didn't we?

How much more can we ask for??? They aren't even obligated to make patches, yet they made them.

Let's be grateful.
