Join with them, we should invade them....again!

edit: are half germans considered Übermensch? I should get a special break because my other half was a WW2 ally.

We would have won, was it not for THOSE MEDDLING KIDS. (gratuitous Scooby Doo reference)
The balance of power is a matter of concern in Europe. Smaller nations always side up against the Bully. For example: the place where I am born was part of France in 1811. A coalition of British, Prussian (German) and Russian troops beat the French under Napoleon. The British idea in the past has always been to form coalitions with the weaker part, because they wanted to have a say on what is going on the continent which they were doing by throwing in their weight. World War I supporting France was costly. They later gave up on the idea to balance the power in Europe by fighting open wars because the Soviet Army was just too powerful. The US jumped in instead because they realised that the balance of power in Europe is all too important, cold war between the US and CCCP.
The longest period of peace we have had in Europe so far was the time between the end of the Napoleon wars and before Germany and Italy formed nation states.
This record still stands. A German-Russian coalition is still an option.

I'm trying guess your location, but I must ask. Are you a native of Alsace-Lorraine? (don't answer if you do not feel comfortable) just the history buff in me asking and I know that location in France has names in both German and French. it has also been a bone of contention, and still is to some, due to the heavy German influence that exists there (and has since the days of the Holy Roman Empire)

Pardon the dumb queries of a yank.

I think we should look further to the East.
As a first show of allegiance to Germany, Herr Soopamann should get us back Samoa!

Well, if we count from the Vienna Congress in 1815 to the first Schleswig-Holstein War in 1848 we had about 33 years of peace here- less than from 1945 till today.

Don't know his real nationality, but, considering the tone of this discussion, can he be considered an honorary German?...:
