How hard would it be for the MH-60 to have it's 30mm M230 Chaingun and 70mm Rockets in game?
Very useful for attacking small patrol boats or soft land targets... |

the only armement missing on the MH-60 is door mounted 7.62mm machine gun, MH-60 is not an attack chopper like the AH-64.

NM.
The MH-60S will be capable of fitting the Mk44 30mm bushmaster II chaingun. Though it isn't mentioned in the ASuW mission, it IS mentioned as an anti-mine countermeasure. NM... It's not due in service yet for a few years. MH-60R models do not have this capability. Think I was browsing the wrong page at Sikorsky. ...Tho it is interesting, the MH-60R CAN mount twi .50 cal in the cabin. That'd be fun! |

@Caseck : What you are referring to is the BlackHawk Attack version of the H-60 (sorry forgot the exact Designator). While this version does exist its neither a Naval version nor used to my knowledge on Naval Vessels (except maybe to land and refuel during a mission). As MsGalileo stated, the only armament to be found on the Naval variants would be a door mounted 7.62 MG. But I'm not so sure if this can be mounted on the version thats simulated in game. Since there is already something similar on the FFG (station wise) it might be a future addition, and certainly welcomed (opens up some new possibilities). I do think however that 30mm Chainguns and 70mm Rockets are not in the book for the Helo. Before that I would hope for a better implementation of the Hellfire & Pinguine missile. Those can actually harm armed and armoured Naval Vessels which are the main bulk of opponents.
EDIT : looks like we wrote at the same time ![]() |

Yup. When I first saw MH-60 I immediately assumed it was the special ops bird. Took me a bit of time to sort out the navy version is a totally different bird.
It would be nice to get the FLIR and the .50 cals though! |
