Default Theres no navy like the royal navy

For more than 400 years the royal navy has prowled the oceans of the world, in peace and war, today the royal navy is as stong as ever.

new faster more powerful ships and submarines equiped with the latest equipment sensors and weapons that will keep the royal navy at the fore front of any naval battle for years to come.

many naval heros born out from englands mighty navy many commanders and admirals try to mirror nelson the hero of the entire royal navy.

im battle the royal navy has never lost a major battle in 400 years a record that no other navy in the entire world has yet claimed,

many will full enamys challenged the might of the royal navy and lost hitler one quoted "because of the royal navy im afraid gentlemen we have lost the war"

churchill a believer in the royal navy put his entire faith in it and so do many a politicians even today.

saddam hussien once said "if the nroyal navy turns up here you know we have lost everything"

the royal navy has a reputation second to none a reputation that can only be admired through out the world the gentlemen sailors of her majestys navy help guide and defend her till the end.

despite the lack of numbers the royal navy remains a super power although small her status is super power and has been for over 375 years from henry the eight to nelson and now to HM Queen elizabeth the second the royal navy is the only true solid navy.

the once great broadsides and capital ships and drednoughts have been replaced with more advanced capible warships including the new carriers and destroyers the submarines which are more powerful than ever before ensure that britian is well defended.

In 1982 argentina invaded the falklands to her horror britain sent the mighty royal navy a force of over 100 ships two carriers and 10,000 men in less than two months (dont quote) the pride of argentina the belgrano was sunk and the airforce was obliterated of the 200 strong argentine airforce 91 planes were shot down with not a single loss to the 24 british planes a testement to the royal navy.

despite the loss of coventry sheffield sir galahad and glamorgan the royal navy 8000 miles from home won the day and since no navy has challenged her not even the american or russian navy because the training of the royal navy is "superior" (quote from two american analysts) to that of any navy on earth.

its just a shame that idiot politicians dictate to the navy what it can and cant do, and the reason the modern navy hasnt really been tested by any nation is that britain now has this odd policy of trying to get along with other countries instead of taking them over.

now heres hoping BAE pull their fingers out and actually finish a new ship,we have a whole host of new missiles sat around waiting to be carried by something.

you have to notice that you can actually say the phrases "Royal Navy" or the "Royal Air Force" and every-body knows exactly what your talking about- despite the fact no mention is made of the country of origin of these forces --which considering that Great Britain is not the only country in the world with a Royal family-- rather says it all- if you see what i mean/

For the record the Royal Navy was once defeated the French...(Battle of Chesapeake Bay)

Other battles of interest...
Battle of Lake Champlain
Battle of Lake Erie
USS Constitution Vs. HMS Guerriere
USS United States Vs. HMS Macedonian
USS United States Vs. HMS Java
USS Essex Vs. British Whaling Fleet
USS Bonhomme Richard Vs. HMS Serapis

For the last time Kapitain the Royal Navy is not undefeated!

What do Americans say when they encounter the Royal Navy?
"I have not yet begun to fight!" -John Paul Jones
"We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop." -Oliver Hazard Perry
“We saved your ass in World War Two!” -Homer Jay Simpson USNR

I think you're hugely mis-informed in what your idea of the Commonwealth

I'll put it to you this way, when was the last time the Queen had anything to do with making actual policy, eh? Cause the Queen is the only thing British that is still recognized in Canadian government structure; but of course, she doesn't have any more of a real political role than for you over there :hmm:

Anyway, the point is that the RCN is not part of the RN. It once has been, but there is simply no way any more that the British parliament can excercise any direct power over it. Both answer to the Crown, but the Crown really does not have a power to over-ride parliament nowadays. And in this case, you're dealing with two different parliaments - the British and the Canadian, which are completely independent of each other, and are democratically elected by the people of their respective nations.

But that doesn't mean our navies still can't be friends
