Default New to SH3 mods and overwhelmed... help, please.

Just downloaded SH3 from Steam and I'm looking to incorporate some mods before I dive in (no pun intended). I've spent a few hours scouring the boards but I'm a little overwhelmed -- there's a LOT of material. Can someone please point me in the right direction for the best starting point for the essential mod(s). I get the impression Grey Wolf is what I want, just looking for some verification and/or pointers. Once I get my bearings I'll be good to go, just need the proper point of entry. Thanks in advance for help and understanding.

Welcome aboard!

You're quite right that there's so much material out there that it can seem a bit overwhelming. That being said, as you already have GWX in mind, (great idea by the way), I'd start with this thread for a 'proper point of entry:'

The nice thing about this link is it provides an overview of the *best* mods along with in-game screens so you can size 'em up before you download. Take it one step at a time, enjoy and have fun!
