Default I think I'm going to pass on Battlefield 3(hey I've got Arma 2) and get Batman!

Now rumored with multiplayer. Umm umm this is too good to be passed up.

http://arkhamcity.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1152

Edit: Then again I may not. It turned out to be only a single player game. Too bad.

But the atmosphere is really great. Maybe I'll get this instead BF3.

Kind of burned out on military first person shooter.

I'm not taken by even Diablo 3 hype(no Paladin) nor BF 3 any longer(mil sim burn out). This Batman is really good only if it had an MP as it was planned yet cancelled.

Publishers just want to sell games. They do not want to fund for the best game but one good enough to sell. I'd fork 100 bucks for more long lasting value of this Batman game which would include open world, free roaming MP games. Sigh.

I guess it's a good thing DC Universe Online is going free to play late this month! Spend mere 5 bucks and you get more value too.

Arkham city has been on my must buy list from the day it was a rumor. If its as good as Arkham Asylum was I'm going to be in for 4 or 5 run throughs straight off the bat (hahaha unintensional bad pun)

It's bigger than asylum. And yes it looks like a damn good game. The atmosphere and the portrayal of the characters are really great.

Why didn't they proceed with MP?

A free roaming MP world would give this game much more lasting value.

Second, the story mode would last mere 25 hours. If it had been 40+ hours then no MP would have been justified. Of course 25 hours excluding side quests. But still I was hoping 40 hours excluding side quests.

I'll probably get this too and hold off BF3 as the latter no longer holds a big appeal to me somehow.

Edit: Asylum which I never play had 8-12 hours story mode content. So Arkham City definitely is bigger but still I want to become a maniac super villain on the streets harassing good citizens and creating mayhem blowing police cars and all or becoming a self vindicated superhero trying to whack the head of these psychopath bastards all while playing with other real people online.

I know DC universe is going free to play but the graphics are not the same. The Gothic feeling....

I just come off the BF3 open beta tonight, Oceanic servers are packed to the rim, and I will say for me anyways its very very good, far better than BF BC2. Prone is back. Beta ran like a dream hope the full game does likewise.

BF3, I will be getting it.

Yeah more maps would be great, only problem with this beta for me is I and my son are fighting over who's turn is it next. Usually we have a rule every 5th death and we swap over, I prefer if he would just go away so dad can play BF3 all night but hes 19 and bigger than me so its not that easy.

Sharing the Gaming pc is not working we are going to get another pc end of year.

Do not tempt me . I'm scurrying to you tube to judge BF3 again .... I really like this Batman game. BF 3 seemed to have lost its appeal some days ago somehow. No longer excited seeing their clip.

or I'll buy both..Hmm. I know BF3 is going to be stocked in local retailer for sure. Not sure about Batman. May have to order it online.

Aye contacted local game distributor asking about Red Orchestra 2(for like the sixth time) and Batman Arkham City. Both will be stocked, and will come not very long and I already asked to be notified when they are in.

Sayonara BF3

Batman gameplay,

May I ask how much you'll be paying for them over there?

I don't know yet but definitely cheaper than those buying in Australia.
For EA games I can get them much much cheaper but for other titles mostly from 40-70 bucks depending on the title. Starcraft 2 for example is tagged at 70 bucks. Warhammer 40K Space marine at 50 bucks. Just to illustrate things. So about the same price or a little more than what Americans would pay.

if I cannot get certain title which I love so much then I order it through a Hong Kong online retailer which sells games cheap(relatively cheap). Delivery time takes some weeks for free shipping though which is what I prefer.

On the bright side MMOs are going free to play these days and I'm going to try Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online when they go free to play which is in a few weeks for DC Universe. That means more [quality] games with less money spent.

Depends on whether you're a savvy Aussie gamer or not. Unfortunately for the wider gaming community, most kids and their parents will be buying from EB Games, GAME and JB Hi-fi because they don't know any better.

All the games I buy are either on special on Steam, from a little place called Dungeon Crawl here in Melbourne City (Or their website if the in store price is a bit above what I'm willing to pay) or I import from the UK via ozgameshop. It's been over a year since I've been slugged $80+ for new release titles.

Ah steam or retail import. I'd buy from steam if my internet was adequate. Would take too long time to download the game.

Australia prosperity is bringing prices up to ridiculous level.

I was thinking of trying out Startrek online when its F2P watched some gameplay videos and liked the flying around in space with your own ship parts but the land on a planet and completing quests is what killed this game apparently from the reviews ive read its really bland and boring with small areas where the only thing to tell you can't go any further is the invisible wall. Still will give it a try when the game goes F2P as the space battles and detail in this game looks a beaut.

Meanwhile its Age of Conan for the time being.

For me aside from being a star trek fan (not a diehard fan) I actually like the possibility of doing ground missions.

What I do not like is the space battles. I prefer bridge commander kind of space battle where you can see and control your spaceship from inside the bridge.

Oh well if it's free I'll give it a try. It should not be that bad.
