Default (Req) Nazi flags for SH 4 that works with TMO RSRD

Adding some German ships to appropriate areas in the Pacific such as the aux cruiser Michel that was sunk while entering Tokyo Bay by USS Tarpon in 1943.

Anyway, would like accurate German flags with swastika that works with TMO 2.1 and RSRD.

I'm sure it can be modded .... by modders who choose to. I remember in Aces High and Air Warrior that the game programmers made the decision not to create skins on their end that depict anything related to the Nazi party due to the sensitivity in Germany, specifically (being internationally marketed games). I'm not sure if Ubisoft has the same policy but I wouldn't be surprised, being based in Europe. Such sensitivity also can be individually based. While I, personally, am not offended by historically accurate markings and flags (though I'm no German Wermacht or Nazi WWII historiphile [is that a word?] by any means) I can fully respect modders who opt out .... or not.

Just opining. Obviously this doesn't help with the request, specifically. Wish I could mod.

I am aware of all that.Think its a bit too much PC but oh well. There is a Nazi Flah mod for Operation Monsun mod, wanting one for TMO RSRD to use on German ships in the PTO.

It's not only that, there is also the issue in which nazi crosses and obvious emblems are just outlawed in some countries, such as my very sunny own.

There is a specific anti-hate law here that prohibits it (Federal Law 9459/97, article 20, first paragraph), under these terms:
"Fabricate, comercialize, distribute or pass aroung simbols, emblems, ornaments, distinctives or propaganda which utilize the suastica cross, for the purpose of divoulging nazism. Penalty: prision from 2 to 5 years plus a fine". This is a rough translation of mine.

(In portuguese, for those who may be interested: "§ 1º Fabricar, comercializar, distribuir ou veicular símbolos, emblemas, ornamentos, distintivos ou propaganda que utilizem a cruz suástica ou gamada, para fins de divulgação do nazismo.Pena: reclusão de dois a cinco anos e multa."

So... yeah.

Silly to my mind, but I live where I do so my opinion of it doesn't count for much. Back before the internet my model club used to get regular requests for German WW2 decal sets, as models of German aircraft made anywhere in Europe came with black balls on the tails.

Kind of ironic that in many countries rescued from the Nazi's engage in such censorship that can't use Nazi emblems in computer games. What about movies etc? Twisted logic.

These are the operative words:

I should think you are not at risk for using them in a game simulation.

Willing to bet it's a concern over possibly desensitizing youth. Whether one agrees it's a valid concern or not is another thing. But it's been said that Neo-Nazis are on the rise in Europe (Germany itself), even with such laws.

I say hiding the symbols may end up making both them and what they symbolized more of a temptation for some and more likely to be an underground trend, as well. It's probably better to keep the lessons of history alive, transparent and detailed. I'm not attracted to the swastika or the culture, nor am I so afraid of it that the symbol alone disturbs me. From my point of view, they make good targets in the game.

I think it is ridiculous too, but what can I say?
