Default You all have permission to kick me!

Sometimes i despair of myself, ive been mooching around the forums and generally searching the net for decent reference/blueprints for the VIIc, i even created a thread asking for reference material...

Its only just occured to me that just to my left on my bookshelf is a very good book called "Anatomy of a ship: type VII u-boat", sometimes you just overlook the obvious

I put this down to 'internet syndrome'. It seems the more we become dependent on the web, the less we consider 'old media' as viable sources.

I recognize the pattern in my own thinking as I tend to search the web first, (often for something I never find), even though I have an excellent library on the subject right under my nose.

I suspect this is all too common and will probably only increase as time goes by. Even research, (that once proud bastion of isolated inquiry), has become social.

Yes there are undeniable benefits to shared knowledge, but there is also the down side of excessive time spent in exhaustive searches for material that's probably never been posted.

Still I suppose the 'thrill of the hunt' and/or 'discovering what's out there' is the thing that tips the scales against the dusty stuffiness of the old book. All in all, it seems remarkable that the digital age has come so far so fast as to relegate the book to the backburner of our minds in such a short period of time.

lol, i know that. when creating graphics, i often search the net for matching pics, instead of taking them with my camera. we´re just to much focussed on the inet and it became the first of all sources.

happy new times.

Well if you check your original request thread you'll find I'd offered you a comprehensive set of blueprints covering just about every U-boat at the time.

Consider yourself 'kicked'.
