Default Deck gun won't repair

I'm having some trouble with my deck gun. It's damaged, and doesn't seem to be repaired. I can use it myself, but I cannot get the crew to work it.
My management screen show "Aft gun deck" and "Fore gun deck" both in red, and with some damage values. What can I do about this?

It may take days to repair them if they're badly damaged, but as stated you can still use them, just a bug.

Make sure it is not completely destroyed, thus unrepairable.

this is by checking the deck gun bar. Also checking the deck gun station. if it's not the same color as other compartments, you got a stuck damage. hump it to the nearest refit barge or port, and it should be repaired. Hull damage isnt..

Have you tried activating your damage repair crew? Also, are the "damaged" gun(s) listed in the damage control box?

They're "repairable":
  1. When you are on the surface
  2. Have manned them and/or
  3. Have some crew in the Damage Control slots AND have activated it.
If it is 100% damaged it might be repaired after refiting in a friendly port.
