I expect this will turn up on the LOTR extended Blu-rays. It's certainly a scene I'd not seen before in any version of the movies.

That is from the strictly limited 18 discs extended director's cut edition (limited to 50.000.000 copies only)

Damn for a moment there I thought I was slipping in the hobbit updates!

BTW there have been new hobbit video updates in the last few days its just that ive retired from updating them here

, so just check Peter Jackson's facebook from time to time.
