Default Arma2 Free

So apparently BI is about to release a free, down-spec version of ARMA. Full multiplayer + mission editor, but no mods or single player campaigns.

http://www.arma2.com/free

Interesting

Might be a good way to finally sucker some non-sim-junkie friends into trying ArmA though

I'd call that a demo.

Mods are a big thing for me. When I'm hiding behind cover with ZeuAI blasting away some suppression fire backed up by an great sound pack, the game really comes alive and sometimes has me screaming at the screen: "SOMEONE POP SOME ----ING SMOKE SO I CAN GET OUT!!!"

Just get ArmA 2 CO.

If you had a microphone someone might even hear that.

ArmA or ArmA2? I never bought the first one. I'd be well interested seeing as how I mostly tool around with the editor in Arma2.

EDIT.

Ah OK. 2 it is. Nevermind; it still quite a cool way of bringing them in. Indecently, there must be something in the water just now because the publishers of WW1 flight sim 'Rise of Flight' did pretty much the same thing. - what used to be the demo is now the full sim with 2 aircraft. For free.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the broken record.

(seriously, is that not getting a tad old already?)

Yep, but it never becomes outdated.
