Default This Guy Went Insane - And I LOVE IT!

So, this guy has way too much time on his hands. And I want it, soooo bad.

It has fully animated dive planes and rudders, all 4 gun turrets rotate, all the masts extend and retract, all 10 torpedo doors function and fire specially made torpedoes, the radar mast rotates, it has static dive and full trim capability, behaves very realistically both on the surface and submerged, is all hand painted, cost A TON of money, and I want it soooooooooo freaking bad.

We could pool funds and build one - or buy it - and have it shipped to Neal as the first exhibit of the Subsim.com museum

Semi serious

Nahh he didn't make it-he just used his time and grey cells to build a shrinking ray machine and used it on a real sub. Awesome it is truly awesome btw.

Very nice indeed...I used to be the proud owner of a 6' WWII British S Class, she was radio controlled, dive, steer etc. but didn't have anywhere near as many functions as that beauty above.

Is this the 1/72 scale model of something he custom made?

Yeah, its pretty much a dissection of a plastic model that he made remote control, added in all the functions, everything, re molded parts, made functional, everything

I have had the 1/72 scale Gato class boat sitting unbuilt in its box out in the shed for two years now.....

Maybe I should try and build it now...

The wife will not be amused though

Cheers

I remember the last day of the SubSim Meet in Texas when a certain individual knew it was Neals birthday (iirc none of the rest of us did) and presented him with the exact same present.

I wonder if he got round to building it yet?
