This is a good topic for discussion, there is much controversy about the color of this symbol.

This is a good site in Spanish, which summarizes in a way which were the colors used, but equally there are many accurate or inaccurate information:

U-96 was an Type VIIC Sub (http://www.uboat.net/boats/u96.htm) and have an black sawfish ! The green sawfish was the emblem from the 9th U-Boat-Flotilla in Brest (http://www.uboat.net/special/emblems/u96.html).

The follow subs have an sawfish (in different colors) as emblem too:

U91, U 92, U96, U 211, U 214, U 217, U 218, U 230, U 409, U 591, U 595, U 604, U 659, U 664, U 744, U 755, U 764 und U 954.

Your reference listed dosen't say anything about U96 having a black sawfish theres that conjection, lol But if I were a punter and based on the darkness of the emblem against the sails grey colour and the B/W photo, IMO I'd agree that it was Black or a very dark grey, but this is not a reference, and its only my opinion

Yes, but in my opinion we don´t have better references, because I think it don´t exist color photos from real U-96 sub. We see it on historical black-white photos and we have as reference the movie "Das Boot". In the movie "Das Boot" the sawfish is black (the movie based on real-patrols from U-96). The Roman-Author Lothar-Günther Buchheim was in WW2 in the rank on a "Leutnant" War-journalist and drive 2 or 3 partrols with U-96 under Commander "Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock" (here a picture from him on U-96, with beard: http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=h...%3Disch&itbs=1

This mod shows the skin of Red Devil U-552 in the list update mechanism, while in the Bunker.

Great reference!, loved the reading but once again Part IV says it all ( I won't quote as readers can view for themself and make their own minds up )- there is still conjection till this day about the colour, anyway I think this topic is off track and we are stealing Nozaurio thread. From what I read, these emblems of sawfish were disabled in 1941, only used the snorting bull of the 7th Flotilla.

Do you release a skin with an laughing sawfish in near future ?
When yes, what do you think about the suggestion, the skin in two
different versions to release, one with a black sawfish and the other one with an dark-green sawfish ? Because different historical sources spoke from an dark-green sawfish on U-96, other from black sawfish. So with two skins the user have the choice between black and dark-green sawfish. What do you mean ?
