Default external camera moving like sh3

Hello.
I'm searching the way to have the external camera that is able to be near of the uboat , sticked to him , like in the sh3.
In the sh5 , there's always space and it's not possible to be sticked to any object.
If you have any ideas.
Thanks for all.

Hello Han .
I already saw this into another compilation mod like magnum opus.
I'm using lighter mod actually but i will enjoy to keep this external view possibility.
I don't know if it was a specific mod just for it or a file py modification.

Hi all ,,,
Just for information , i found the way to change it.
It's not from a mod but from a file modification into the mod called cameras.cam

About what you said Han , the modification is not with the magnum multi mod , i tested it.

See ya

Hey Cross,

Could you please explain in detail, step by step - what exactly should be done ?

This is feature that many sailors are interested in ! ( habits from SH3... )

( what do you mean "mod called cameras.cam" ? Is it done within some mod or simply within "original file" ? )

Hello cardiff and Adriatico.
This is a file modification to do , the file is into the mod that you are using as base mod. Or may be you can change directelly it into the file of the game.
I found it with this post on subsim :
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163492
It explains that it's possible to have a zoom with the mouse control and it's necessary to change a file called cameras.cam
The download of this file is here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1571
With this explaination :
To serve movie makers, I added a simple "optical" controller to external camera.
Now it has 3 zoom modes: Default, 3x, 5x. Use scroll wheel to change between modes.
To install, place cameras.cam it in "sh5_install_folder"\data\library, overwriting the file there. Remember to backup your original.
----------------------
So , it wasn't what i was searching for but it was near to arrive at the point that it was possible to move the external cam like on sh3 , near of the uboat or other boats in the game.
I had a look on my file into the base mod i'm using that is called MiniMega_Mod_ v1.2_SH5 and i found different symbol with another file from another mod compilation where i saw that the camera was working like sh3.
I tried to do modification on the file mod i'm using but it was not possible as this is crypted line , don't know what is this language.
The symbol was different on few lines at the parameter ( clip distance ).

So i did a test , i saved my original file cameras.cam , i copyed pasted the file from the mod it was working and it was ok.
May be you can do this directelly into the game file as well.
Here is the cameras.cam from the mod it was working :
http://lelolodu69.free.fr/SH5FORUM/e...ra/cameras.cam

Don't forget to make a save of your original cameras.cam before to copy past. For me , the copy/past has been directelly into the base mod:
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\MiniMega_Mod_ v1.2_SH5\data\library
But if you don't find it with the mod you are using , sure it is also working directelly in the game like for the camera zoom with the mouse.

I hope , i'm enough clear as my english is not the best.

Well I hope to receive my SH5 disc in a few days... and that cameras.cam will be applied first.

But it seems to me that we did not understand each other:

Camera moving freely around u-boat is great feature (thanks elanaiba) but I asked about camera - fixed to u-boat, following your u-boat at "fixed distance/angle view to u-boat"

Or simply "." key in patched SH3... if I remember well ?

So are we talking here about free moving camera - or camera sticked to u-boat (folowing camera) ?

If so... which key should be pressed ?

You can hit F2 key for external view. Then hit "." for next unit. Camera will follow your boat.
If you hit "." again, you will follow next unit if available.
Hit F2 again to exit External view.

Try SH_Keymapper v1.01.
Bind keys to "Camera_on_prev_unit" and " Camera_on_next_unit"
