The glassed covered shelves are the way to go. Specifically with the dust that likes to collect. Glad you are going to display. Often folks buy and keep them in the box because the item will retain better value. What's the purpose of buying the items in the first place? Display or make a few more dollars/pounds down the road? I open them, display and toss the box. These are madet to enjoy on display.

Tonka? Is the original Tonka that manufactured steel construction vehicles for kids to play with? Nice looking model. Have a link you purchase these from?

Yeah Tonka was indeed a childhood metal toy manufacturer but my use of the word was in the context of the Tornado aircrafts nickname being 'Tonka' as the Typhoon having the nickname 'Tiffy'

What links would you like...the Ikea furniture or the suppliers of the aircraft?

That's a nice aircraft for the collection...I'm currently on the lookout for a TSR-2 if I can find one reasonably priced.

BTW...Kratos was asking after you on Thursday night.

I was not sure if Tonka for the toy manufacturer is what you meant!

This looks a lot like the digger I used to have. Good strong and tough. Didn't know that Hasbro owned Tonka now, sign of the times I guess.

Give Kratos my best when you speak to him next Jim, tell him that there's always a seat in the Lolwaffles if ever he wants to return, Schroeder has been keeping it warm for him.

I have a P-40 1/72 scale Pearl Harbor model I picked up somewhere because...well...it was a P-40 and it looks to be made by Unimax. I have this one.

There are others to be had. I just might start collecting a few more of these.

A lot of modellers purchase 'clean' syringes and blunt the edge prior to affixing.

I've got some sowing needles about somewhere, I might take the wire cutters to them and blunt them, see what I can do. Failing that it is a F-100 after clipping another F-100 in flight.

Had an offer for this Tonka accepted on evilBay whilst at work:

AA33609 Panavia Tornado GR.4 No. 12 Sqn., RAF (Special 90th Anniversary Scheme) Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland, 2005

Notice how this one has the pitot tube attached

Beautiful collection there jimbuna.

I was planning to collect Unimax diecast tanks but the local hobby store dropped the line. So, I'm stuck with a solitary T-34 with no one to shoot at.
