Default Hull Integrity?

I'm new to SH5 although I've played SH4 for some time. On my first patrol I've managed to go for a refit to my home port with a hull integrity of 6%. I'm thinking on a scale of 0 - 100 that 100% would mean like new condition and 6% would be close to sinking.
It appears I'm not able to end patrol as in SH4 and get my hull repaired. What does a Captain do in this case, go back to the war with a near non-seaworthy boat?

You can end patroll and repair your hull ... just go where is your base.... so go back at Kiel in your case... there you can end the patrol

Actually I started out from Wilhelmshaven and returned there. In SH4 you could tell which was your home port by the tilted anchor, in SH5 they are all tilted and I don't see anything different among them to indicate that it would be a home port (?)

The home port has an icon with an nave on it... a blue one.. check careful the map... do you use a map mod or you play with the one by default?

So calling for a refit/refueling won't repair hull damage

do not think so... to repair the hull take proper place and proper tools and pieces... i not think that can be done i a open sea or in a simple port in real life

I don't know what a nave is but I found a blue diamond shape with a small boat in it at Lorient. I'm guessing that's where it is. A very long way to go with an iffy hull
Thank you for your help

I put my VIIC into hyper-drive and went to Lorient, they agreed to fix the hull and I've put out to sea again
Thank you Stoianm
