{req] flooding in a compartment
Is there any way for someone to mod water moving around in the control room or conning tower when you hear the words we have flooding like you see in sh5 or is this impossible to mod this into sh4 just thought it would be cool for realism purposes.

"Damage report"
The ensign pulls up the hatch to the control room from the conning tower. A white hat floats by just under the hatch opening. The Ensign turns back to the Skipper. "We have flooding sir..." ![]()

![]() In SHCE there was a flooding guage. I'm guessing this was not present in real life. Does anyone know about this? |

There was a flood guage in real life. How much water you walkin' through!

No, there was no guage to tell you how bad the flooding was, unless of course you use Hylander's example. What they had were crew members assigned by the senior man in the compartment to report to the captain exactly what was going on. Since we don't have that in the game we have instead symbols of the boat's status, like flooding graphics in the damage screen and Hull Integrity percentages.

I'm gonna say this is a must have - realism wise.
Combine it with a torpedo room mod, and it'd be totally epic - so long as it didn't hog frames. Oh, the ability to control the ballast tanks separately to allow counter flooding if say flooding was stopped but pumps destroyed would be awesome too. For the record, my stern torpedo room had completely flooded due to a shell hit, but I was still sufficiently buoyant to continue the mission. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that my stern would sink, and my bow would shoot out of the water - forcing me to sprint to the nearest port on the surface. And the ability to open and close compartment doors without going through them would be pretty sweet, too. Sorry for the off-topic-ness All those ideas popped into my head at once, ![]() ![]() |

Ask Hans Witteman nicely.
![]() For those that don't understand, take a look at a similar topic in the SH3 Mods Workshop.
