Default [TEC] How to change your u-boat draft

many people complained (including me) that the u-boat lies to deep in the water after installin MO or other mods. TDW and someone else pointed me in the right direction i managed to find out how to change the draft of the u-boat in with The goblin editor a while ago . So i decided to post how exaclty this is done. So ill go throught it step by step so anyone can do it for themselves.

*If you have not allready done so configure you goblin editor as done in The Complete Idiots Guide to Goblin Editor sticky.
* open the goblin editor and go to file - open - silent hunter 5 - data - submarine.
* now pick the u-boat you are currently commanding in campain or mission, For exampe i will pick the VIIC so i need to open the filen named NSS_Uboat7c
* then in open NSS_Uboat7c.GR2
* then in goblin go to file - merge and pick NSS_Uboat7c.sim
* now in the gds scene tree and project tree these fils should have transformed in 2 long tree of data.
* In the top of the GDS scene tree right click on NSS_Uboat7c then left click edit contollers.
* a window should now apear , under existing behavoirs click in unit submarine .
* in the right window under edit behavoir double click on unit_ship (under - unit_submarine
*open it by clicking on the + now there should be +obj_hydro , propossion and rudder , open +obj_hydro then open + surfaced.
* there should be displacement and draught
* the numbers behind will probaly say 5.45 ( if your sub lies to deep in the water offcourse) Change the 5.45 (or whatever the number is ) to 4.45 , go to file - save and now your sub will nolonger lie to deep in the water.
*you can change the number to anything you like till you are satisfied with the results in-game. I found 4.45 of draught/draft to be the most realistic and have the best results.
* There is not much that can go wrong here but be sure to backup your files in case you screw up.

Thanks. I think I will try this. I think this is from the UHS mod. I'm not running MO but I do run UHS and while I really like UHS my only wish was to have hte boat ride just a smidge higher. Thaks

I don't have a "problem" per se but I do want to make my boat ride a little higher in the water than UHS has it set. I ran into a problem though. I tried to configure my Goblin editor like it says to in the stickied guide. Still though, when I open files in the editor, it says things like files weren't read correctly and yadda yadda. Point is, something isn't working. Is it possible to edit drafts directly in the cfg text doc (forgot which one but there is one that contains "surface depth" setting)?

It can only be done in goblin editor as far as i know. I desided to put the draft to 5 meters because in a storm it looks better.

Oscar19681 Thanks for your explanation, the problem is that I do not manipulate The Goblin Editor, not master English well.

You could, if not too much trouble, send us the file with the correction?. I really do not want to bother, but I have this same problem with the submarine VIIC.

I really appreciate any help I can provide.

apologize for my ignorance and my poor English.

Greetings...

Ok ill give you my file with the correct u-boat draft. I think it should work but i might have some settings in the goblin editor that might be different then yours. But if youre up for it you might give it a try. Just Pm me and if it works i might make it my first mod?? How about it?

For what u-boat type are you looking for a draft correction?

For the submarine type VIIC (Uboat7c and Uboat7c41)

Sorry but I'm not very familiar with the types of submarines
