And Lombard Street, at high speed.
And the Jeremiah O'Brien! I got to see the Pampanito, but not the O'Brien sadly I did, however, get to speak with a former crewmember (I believe) who was giving tourists some of the boat's history.

We was there last November, but we didn't really tour very much as we were focused more on my grandparents' anniversary.

I was there last May on a business trip with my boss, and he isn't exactly the type to spend a long time poking around on old boats, so I missed out on the O'Brien.

I got to sail on the O'Brien last year on their Memorial Day cruise. That was awesome.

You can't believe how hot those engines get. It had to be at least 120 degrees down there.

We sailed through the Bay, a little ways past the Golden Gate Bridge, and then came back. They must have only been doing a couple knots, because it took 2 or 3 hours. We had lunch, free beer, a brass band, and they did a wreath tossing memorial for some of the original crew who had passed on. It was a great day.

I'll post pics shortly.

EDIT: At work and only have access to a few of the pics, but here they are: http://imgur.com/a/psUNN#8ibIy

Funny, I'm also going to SF and I'm also hoping to make it out to the Pampanito. I'll be in town on business so sadly I don't think I'll have that much time to check out the sights, but I'm hoping to at least make it out to the Pampanito - probably on the 24th or 25th.

They have cruises a few times a year: http://www.ssjeremiahobrien.org/EVENTS/cruises.htm

Wow, I never knew about these cruises - or that O'Brien was in seagoing condition for that matter. That's really cool and now definitely goes on my to-do list - hopefully I'll wind up in SF one summer then! That's a great way to raise money for her preservation, too.

Trip was great. Rained a bunch which slowed down the amount of things we could manage in a given day with kids, but still had loads of fun. HAd a couple rain free days, too.

Fleet week... hmmm.
