Default Deck Gun Missing

I don't recall seeing this mentioned in a thread before. Running TMO 2.1 and RSRD with Patch 1, neither my Narwhal nor Salmon boats have deck guns.
1. Was this by intent?
2. Is there a setting where I can get the deck gun back?

I've lost some easy kills when out of torpedos and returning to base.

Thanks!

Did this happen right from the get/go or did it happen after a return to Home Port?

Right from the get-go after finally installing TMO & RSRD successfully - I hadn't deleted all the previous files, which caused all kinds of problems. Except for no deck gun, I'm extremely pleased with the game now.

Full installed configuration is:
SH4
Patch 1.4b
Patch 1.5
TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2
TMO_Update_20_to_21
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
MaxOptics IV for TMO_2
SCAF for RSRDC v502_2.0
EAX_Sound_Sim
Map Labels 1.3
Office Links, Info Boxes, and 50 cal Mod
PhotoRec_Fix_TMOall&Stock
Small Radar Contacts Stage 1
Stope the Shouting
Webster's No more Cheers for v1.4 & v1.5
Webster's Ship Manuvering Fix for v1.4 and v1.5

I did also try loading the 3000 Yard Bearing Tool (1920x), but it caused crashes, so it is now gone.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

This is the second time I've seen something like this in the forum (i.e., in someone's mod install list). What the heck is "Patch 1.4b" and "Patch 1.5"?

Patch 1.5 would be the u-boat missions add-on. 1.4 would be the last free patch released.

At least, that's the only way I make sense of it.

You are correct, of course. Ubisoft released a patch to the base game that brought it to v1.4; v1.5 is the patch that brings on the U-Boat missons.

Now, does anyone know what really happened to my deck gun?

Thanks!

Well, at this point, I'm left to speculate that it may have something to do with one or more of the many mods you have installed. Mind you, I'm only trying to help you figure this out. Since TMO (I think) includes the .50 cal already (or was it RSRDC?), it might not be needed (or may cause conflicts) in your set-up. There may be some issues with your other installed mods too (there's so many). You might just want to double-check and see if any of them have caused issues with others in the past.

Yes, If you're not too far into your patrol (Start a test career) then, I would try taking out all non-essential mods and if your gun appears, put them back one by one. I had my gun disappear one time at the start of a patrol but that was because I tried to change the guns position at a patrol start rather than a Career start, which makes the gun go away completely.
Good Luck.

Thank you, Gentlemen! I will try those when I get back to my home port tomorrow afternoon. I've been on shore leave in another state. Enjoyable trip, but I need to get back to sea.

Good hunting!

Eureka!

The offender was the "Office Links, Info Boxes, and 50 cal" Mod. Once that was gone everything was fine. Rather than mess with an existing campaign, though, I took the safe path and started a new one. See the thread for "Wake Island Invasion Force" for the results!

Thanks again for the help!
