Default Map dramas

Having played and enjoyed SH3, I've recently bought SH5 and am having all the usual problems but also one other I haven't seen discussed here: How on earth do I rescale the maps manually? They rescale themselves for no apparent reason and are either too small or too large to be of any use.

Sincere apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

zoom in and out you mean? You scroll the map size back and forth with the mouse wheel.

Yeah. This. A mouse isn't gonna break the bank, and I really don't see the point in the headache of trying to play without one.

Playing games without a mouse is pro.
Next level is to play without a keyboard, then with the monitor turned off.

If you use IO_Strategic_Map or Ui-Boat there is an instrument of "Zoom" with which you can zoom without a wheel mouse
