[REQ] Contacts on NavMap disappear at TC 512 and higher

Hi Folks !

As the Title says, when I play at TC 512 and higher the Contacts (near by my sub, under 8000m distance) on the NavMap are disappear !

Is there a way, that the Contacts only disappear from TC 1024 or TC 2048 and higher ? Which File must I adjust ?

It´s so, that the contacts disappear on the NavMap when I go on TC 512 or higher, when I go back under TC 512 they are appear again, when I go to TC 512 or higher they disappear again, go I under TC 512 after a few seconds they appear...and ever so on !

My wish is, that I can see the contacts around my sub on the NavMap at TC 1024 or higher !

Best regards,
Magic

Hmm, never noticed this. But then again, I soon took the advise to keep TC at a low level so I and the AI get comparable time to react. I will have to keep an eye on this if I ever go overboard on TC again.

Hi Magic1111.

i've got contacts even when i played with (my maximum) TC 2048. Perhaps it is a problem of the mods you are using?

Greetings

This will be due to the Visual Sensors and the way that the game tracks objects while under TC.

There are various investigations about how object move/are detected at high TC on Subsim (I CBA to search them out) but the basics are this:

Anything over and above 128 TC the game only monitors certain parts of an objects trajectory.

For example:

At x1 to x64 an object has a standard tracked trajectory and the game tracks it as such: A--------B--------C
At x128 to x512 an object has a skip in it tracked trajectory and the game follows it as such: A- - -B- - -C.
At x512 and above the game will completely miss point B when tracking an object. A- - -C.

This is basically a limitation in the games mechanism and can't be altered.

As such x128 and less is advised to ensure the location and tracking of all objects, especially aircraft.

Many thanks for the explanation, very interesting !

And do you think that we can´t change ? I mean, that the contacts near the sub shows on NavMap at higer than TC512 or 1024 ?

Best regards,
Magic
